| Notice of a Special General Meeting |
|
With the exception of the first, inaugural meeting of the body corporate, general meetings require at least fourteen days notice of the meeting. Only with the agreement of all persons who are entitled to attend may a shorter notice period be given. The notice should be sent to all owners by pre-paid post to their domicilium, which unless notified to the contrary, is the physical address of the owner's section. The meeting must be held at an address within the magisterial district in which the scheme is situated, or any other address agreed to by special resolution of the members. A meeting at which a special or unanimous resolution is to be discussed requires a minimum of 30 days notice. If in the opinion of the trustees the matter to be debated is of a sufficiently urgent nature, less notice may be given providing that it is not less than fourteen days notice as described above. Notice convening such a meeting should be sent by pre-paid registered post, or hand delivered to the members, in which case a signature accepting delivery will be required. The notice period for a meeting depends on the nature of the business, not the nature of the meeting. Any meeting for ordinary business requires fourteen days notice. Any meeting at which a special or unanimous resolution is to be discussed requires thirty days. |
