The first meeting of a new body corporate is held under the chairmanship of the developer. At every subsequent meeting the chairman of trustees will preside as chairman unless the members present resolve that an owner should act as chairman. If the chairman is not available or is unwilling to act in that capacity, the members present may elect another member as chairman for the meeting. Management Rule 59(1) prevents a non-member from chairing a general meeting of the body corporate.
