| Using the Section only for the purpose it was intended |
|
Section 44(1 )(g) of the Act states that a section can only be used for the purpose for which it is intended, although with the written consent of all the other owners, it can be used for a different purpose. The effect of this is that an owner cannot conduct a business within a residential unit or use it for storage or any other non-residential use. It also prevents owners of garages from converting the garage to any form of residential or workshop use. An additional restriction is prescribed by management rule 68(1 )(i) which states that an owner may not use his section, exclusive use area or any part of the common property in such a way as to injure the reputation of the building. |
